The

Munich Harmonists

IMG_3663.jpeg

Attention! Rare! A sextet consisting of five vocal soloists and a pianist, it stands in the tradition of 1930s music. Famous songs such as "Mein kleiner grüner Kaktus" (My Little Green Cactus), "Veronika, der Lenz ist da" (Veronica, Spring Is Here), and "Irgendwo auf der Welt" (Somewhere in the World) still touch all generations today with their wordplay, their musical quick-wit, but also with the melancholy and profundity of the musical arrangements. The six charming gentlemen in tails present this timeless music – with a fascinating mix of musical brilliance, emotional depth, and sophisticated narrative artistry – in their program and on their two albums.

The new album for the new program!Heymann meets The Munich HarmonistsWith a captivating mix of musical brilliance, emotional depth, and great storytelling, the six ensemble members of The Munich Harmonists present their new program and simultaneously their new album – a tribute to the great film composer Werner Richard Heymann. Werner Richard Heymann was one of the most successful film composers of the Weimar Republic. Especially in the 1930s, his works were extremely popular, including well-known film hits like “Das gibt’s nur einmal,” “Ein Freund, ein guter Freund,” and “Irgendwo auf der Welt.” These made him the most performed composer of that time. You can find a sample here: The Munich Harmonists | Spotify

Album review from TZ Munich of May 21, 2025

We are delighted by these words from Elisabeth Trautwein-Heymann, the daughter of the great composer Werner Richard Heymann:"In their beautifully sounding new Heymann CD, The Munich Harmonists have also rearranged songs that the historical Comedian Harmonists did not have in their repertoire. Among other things, the world hit 'Das gibt´s nur einmal' can be heard for the first time (!) in the style of the Comedian Harmonists, as well as lesser-known titles such as the rumba 'Komm mit mir nach Brasilien' or the CD's title track 'Als ich neulich durch München ging (Elisabeth).'"
